I became a camera geek at the age of twelve, while my girl scout troop was doing a merit badge in photography.  Threee years and quite a few rolls of film later I saw a movie I wasn’t old enough to get into and suddenly law school was no longer in the plans.

While studying film at Columbia College Chicago, I began my cinematography career with a number of short films and an independent 16mm feature. Over the years I have had the opportunity to shoot a wide variety of projects; feature films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and television shows, including award winners “Termination”, “Playing Chicken: The Movie”, 54 Seconds’ “Better?” and “Between Floors”. My work has screened on ESPN, A&E, PBS, TLC, Discovery, MTV Europe, and festivals worldwide. I’ve shot projects on all film and video formats and I take great pride in the fact that no one has been able to figure out what’s what  on my reel.

When I’m not on a film set, I can often be found running around with a still camera shooting portraits, live music, or a wedding. I shoot 35mm, digital, and medium format, and whenever I get a chance, I experiment with polaroid and toy cameras.

I really (really) love what I do.  Whether I am chasing a single perfect frame or twenty-four per second, I’m fascinated by what is possible when I get to team up with other passionate people to create something that’s never been seen before. Every project allows for new experiences, collaborations, and opportunities to broaden my perspective- I can’t imagine a better way to spend my days.

I work in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Austin, and I am happy to travel. If you have a project you would like to discuss or have any questions, please give me a call or send me an email. Thank you for taking the time to consider my work- I look forward to speaking with you.

Hail to the geek.
